This month marks the opening of the new Arts and Humanities Building, a state-of-the-art, multidisciplinary learning and teaching facility that features 90,000 square feet of configurable, “smart” classrooms and high-tech labs.

The LEED-standard building is as sustainable as it is visually stunning and incorporates naturally lit collaborative spaces, student lounges, configurable classrooms, labs, and an interior courtyard. Adjacent to the courtyard are state of the art glassblowing and ceramic studios along with the technologically advanced interconnected recording studio and 196-seat Zingg Recital Hall suite featuring variable acoustics in an intimate natural wood environment. Additionally, the building includes a 2,961-square-foot multi-use rehearsal space with mirrored walls and a sprung dance floor. It is also the new home for three art galleries, including the Janet Turner Print Museum, Jacki Headley University Art Gallery, and the Master’s of Fine Arts Gallery.

The building houses the College of Humanities and Fine Arts offices, departmental offices for the Departments of English, International Languages, Literatures, and Cultures, Comparative Religion and Humanities, Philosophy, and additional offices for faculty in the Department of Art and Art History.
