Worth Sharing: CAGD Program Earns National Recognition

Publications, Presentations, and Exhibits

Plant and soil science and multicultural and gender studies double major Saul Reyes, AGDAILY’s Diversity Issues Intern, authored the article, “The forgotten unifying superpowers of agriculture.”

Awards and Activities

Animation Career Review ranked Chico State’s Computer Animation and Game Development Program on several of its lists in its 11th annual Animation Rankings. It ranked No. 14 nationally among schools offering an animation-related bachelor’s degree, was recognized as the No. 20 program in California, and honored as the No. 24 program on the West Coast.

Senior Malik Duffy was named First Team All-California Collegiate Athletic Association (CCAA) and was honored as its Men’s Basketball Player of the Year. Fellow seniors Kevin Warren and Isaiah Brooks were also named First Team All-CCAA, while senior Joshua Hamilton and junior Colby Orr both received conference Honorable Mention.

Thanks to a pair of 18-point performances during a vital weekend of play, freshman guard Charity Gallegos was named the CCAA Women’s Basketball Player of the Week. Gallegos led the Wildcats to a win to clinch a playoff berth, then went 7-of-10 from the 3-point line to finish off her regular season—leading to her second conference award this year.

Gallegos and teammate Bailey Jones were named to the All-CCAA team. Gallegos was named All-CCAA First Team, and Jones received conference Honorable Mention.

After a blistering weekend at the plate, designated hitter Kyle Dobson was named the CCAA Player of the Week. The sophomore went 8-for-12 at the plate with a pair of doubles, a triple, and drove in seven runs. Later in the week, the National Collegiate Baseball Writers Association named Dobson its West Regional Player of the Week.
