From the President: Reflections on the Camp Fire Anniversary

Over the past year, we have been learning together how to recover when a disaster occurs. We have experienced a shared trauma, which each of us navigates individually, but it is through a shared community trait of resilience that we walk this road together. Our campus community has been immersed in various aspects of the Camp Fire recovery, and we will continue to be a neighbor and partner.

Gayle Hutchinson is the 12th president of California State University, Chico. She holds a bachelor’s degree in physical education teacher education, a master’s in teaching analysis & curriculum development, and a doctorate of education in teacher education/staff development.
