Oroville Southside Community Improvement Association Presents Chico State Community Day
The Oroville Southside Community Improvement Association (OSCIA) is proud to present Chico State Community Day, an event dedicated to bringing the communities of Oroville and Chico State together. On Saturday, September 21, from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m., the event allows students, community members, and employees to explore all Chico State has to offer and learn how the University serves as a hub for education, entertainment, and connection for Oroville residents.
The theme of the event, “Inspiring Communities. Transforming Lives,” emphasizes the strong bond between the University and its surrounding communities. Chico State aims to ensure that all K-12 students from Oroville know there is a place for them at the University.
Event Details:
Date: September 21, 2024
Time: 11 a.m. to 3 p.m.
Location: Southside Oroville Community Center
This event will feature live entertainment, guest speakers, and food trucks, providing a fun, welcoming atmosphere for everyone. Various on-campus services will host booths, including representatives from Chico State’s Admissions office, the Financial Aid office, the Educational Opportunity Program (EOP), Path Scholars, TRIO Student Support Services, Project Rebound, and more.
“Chico State is thrilled to collaborate with the OSCIA for this special event. We want to make sure every student and family in Oroville knows they are welcome on our campus, and that Chico State is a place where we have the programs in place for students to thrive academically and socially,” said Isaac Brundage, vice president for Student Affairs. “We plan to not only showcase some of the resources and opportunities available but to do so in an entertaining format that strengthens the connection between our University and the greater Oroville area.”
