Last week, Rory Abberton detailed his career as a student-athlete at Chico State in advance of his final cross-country race, the NCAA Division II Championships in Seattle, Washington.

Abberton, perhaps calling upon the good feedback he received from the campus community following the publishing of his story, finished in 25th place to earn his first cross-country all-American honors. Though he battled through sickness in the week leading up to the race, Abberton finished with a time of 30:20.0 in the 10K race. Abberton’s performance was part of a successful championships for both the men, who finished 5th overall and the women who finished in 12th place.
