Worth Sharing: Duffy Named West Region Player of the Year

Awards and Activities

Malik Duffy added to his haul of postseason awards by being named the D2CCA Men’s Basketball West Region Player of the Year. Duffy is the first Chico State player to earn the honor, carries a 4.0 grade point average, and is scheduled to earn his master’s degree in social science in 2023.

After a performance in the javelin in which he set a personal best, Aries Harris was named the California Collegiate Athletic Association’s (CCAA) Men’s Track and Field Field Athlete of the Week. At the Aggie Open on March 12, Harris heaved the javelin 57.51 meters—a CCAA best and less than a meter short of the NCAA Provisional Qualifying standard.

Parker Williams was named the CCAA Men’s Track and Field Track Athlete of the Week after capturing the 110-meter hurdles at the Aggie Open. Williams’s time of 14.43 seconds set a personal best and is an NCAA Provisional Qualifying mark, while he also helped the 4×400-relay team to a third place finish and finished fifth in the open 400.
