Worth Sharing: Professor Emerita Receives Higher Ed Distinguished Service Award

Awards and Activities

The Multimedia Educational Resource for Learning and Online Teaching (MERLOT) recognized Cris Guenter, Professor Emerita from the School of Education, with its 2022 MERLOT Distinguished Service Award. Guenter is an Associate Editor for the MERLOT Teacher Education Board and has been with the organization, an international initiative enabling faculty to integrate technology into higher education, since its inception in 1988.

College Consensus, a college review aggregator, has included Chico State on a pair of its best value lists for 2022. Chico State was ranked No. 63 nationally for Best Value Colleges and Universities and was ranked No. 11 for Best Value Online Colleges and Universities.

After being awarded the California Collegiate Athletic Association’s Player of the Week, Jeffrey Ray was recognized as the West Region’s Player of the Week. Chico State’s second baseman hit .636 over a weekend four-game series against Cal State San Marcos, in which he collected three doubles, a grand slam, and a pair of stolen bases.
