Awards, Honors, and Activities
The Chico State delegation representing the Republic of Cuba took home the coveted Outstanding Delegation Award from the Model United Nations Conference. Additionally, three committees were awarded the Outstanding Position Paper award and student delegates in two other committees were awarded Best Delegates for their respective committee. The student officer corps were led by Head Delegate Tommy Hubbard.
Hanna Scully and Kassidi McLeod, both agribusiness majors at Chico State, were among 42 students across California and Arizona awarded an AEF Educational Scholarship from UnitedAg.
The Chico State chapter of the American Marketing Association (AMA) earned the title of Top Chapter of the Year at the 2023 AMA International Collegiate Conference, ranking in the top 20 out of more than 300 chapters. Only 25 total universities are considered for this title by the American Marketing Association. The club was assessed in areas including Professional Development, Membership, Social Impact, Communication, Fundraising, Budgeting, and Overall Chapter Activities.
Jaycob Arbogast (College of Business and Director of the Center for Excellence in Finance) recently obtained his Certified Financial Planner Professional certification from the Certified Financial Planner Board.
Chico State’s cybersecurity team, usr0, placed second out of more than 3,000 teams nationwide in the National Cyber League team game. The team consists of Cody Wilson, Duncan Hendrickson, Max McVay, Dylan Courtwright, Dexter Lamm, Ryan Heldt, and Evan Potter.
