Awards, Honors, and Activities

Several individuals associated with Chico State were acknowledged as Women of Distinction by the local branch of the American Association of University Women (AAUW), including former director of Community Action and Volunteer in Education (CAVE) Ann Schwab, associate vice president for Student Support Programs Juanita Mottley, and President Gayle Hutchinson. The AAUW advances equity for women and girls through advocacy, education, research, and philanthropy.

Gizmodo named Chico State at No. 14 on its list of “Top 20 Public Colleges for High-Paying Careers.” These rankings recognize which higher education institutions prepare their students with the highest salaries after graduating with a technology degree.

In recognizing the “2023 Best Value Colleges and Universities,” College Consensus listed Chico State at No. 23, as well as No. 22 on its “2023 Best Value Online Colleges and Universities” rankings.

Chico State softball standout Tayler Berens has earned California Collegiate Athletic Association First Team All-conference honors. The junior outfielder is one of just 15 players to garner First Team honors.
