Worth Sharing: Martinez Recognized with National Student Voting Honor

Awards and Activities

Anahí Martinez was named to the 2022 ALL IN Student Voting Honor Roll representing Chico State. The Student Voting Honor Roll is part of ALL IN’s mission to encourage students to advance voting efforts on college and university campuses around the country. Chico State was one of only two CSU campuses represented, with Sacramento State being the other.

Brooke Larsen and Nina Revoir capped their seasons on the softball diamond with All-West Region honors. Larsen, who earlier in the month was named the California Collegiate Athletic Association (CCAA) Most Valuable Player, was named to the First Team All-West Region. Revoir was a Second-Team All-CCAA selection and earned Second Team All-West Region accolades.

Chico State outfielder Amanda Metzger earned the CCAA Softball Elite 13 award. Formerly known as the CCAA Championship Scholar Award, the CCAA Elite 13 Award recognizes the academic and athletic achievements of one student-athlete at each CCAA-sponsored Championship.

A trio of Chico State softball players were named to the Collegiate Sports Information Directors of America (CoSIDA) Academic All-District Team for 2022. Larsen (a graphic design major), Metzger (psychology), and Alani Nguyen (business management) all earned First Team recognition.

Chico State relief pitcher Josh Verdon was named to the CoSIDA Academic All-District Team. The junior mechanical engineering major boasts a cumulative 3.48 GPA.

Chico State starting pitcher Austin McFarlane was named last week’s CCAA Pitcher of the Week following a masterful one-hit shutout. Later in the week, McFarlane was recognized as the National Collegiate Baseball Writers Association West Region Pitcher of the Week.
