Worth Sharing: All-American, Academic Honors Roll in for Wildcat Student-Athletes

Awards and Activities

On the strength of an outstanding senior season, Willie Lajoie was named honorable mention All-America by the National Collegiate Baseball Writers Association. Lajoie finished the season with a .399 batting average and drove in 56 runs.

Four Chico State women’s golfers were recognized with Academic All-American honors. Natalie Kinney, Taylor Stewart, Kelsey Blaylock, and Kelly More were all named to the Women’s Golf Coaches Association All-American Scholar Team for the 2021–22 academic year.

Six Wildcat basketball players were named to the California Collegiate Athletic Association’s (CCAA) Winter Academic Honor Roll. Women’s basketball players honored were Haley Ison and Jordan Morris, while men’s basketball players Kevin Warren, Joshua Curls, Malik Duffy, and Colby Orr were recognized.

Twenty-four spring student-athletes were named to the 2022 CCAA’s Spring Academic Honor Roll. The awardees include Wildcat baseball players Gabriel Arellano, Michael Bennin, Kyle Dobson, Cody Gentry, Elijah Jackson, Jarret Lindsay, Jack Murphy, Rylan Tinsley, and Josh Verdon; softball players Rachael Atkins, Brooke Larsen, Amanda Metzger, and Reilani Peleti; men’s golfer Chris Colla; women’s golfers Kelsey Blaylock and Natalie Kinney; men’s track and field athletes Kevin Telford and Conor Wells; and women’s track and field athletes Savannah Bailey, Ashley Brown, Lara Condosta, Selina Schillig, Nadia Torkman, and Victoria Vally.
