Publications, Presentations and Exhibits

Laird Easton, Department of History, penned a column that appeared in The Washington Post titled, “Good news: The economy usually recovers quickly once pandemics end.”

Awards and Activities

Both Chico State’s men’s and women’s track and field teams were honored for their excellence inside the classroom, having earned 2020 All-Academic Team awards from the US Track and Field and Cross Country Coaches Association.

The Chico State men’s basketball team was honored for its academic achievements, while four of its players were also recognized. The Wildcats received a National Association of Basketball Coaches (NABC) Team Academic Excellence Award (the cumulative grade point average of all student-athletes who competed must be 3.0 or higher), and Kevin Warren, Calvin Geraci, Colby Orr, and Joshua Curls were named to the NABC Honors Court (juniors or seniors academically with a cumulative GPA of 3.2 or higher).

The Chico State volleyball team earned Team Academic Honors from the American Volleyball Coaches Association and the United States Marine Corps for the 2019–20 academic year. To receive the award, players from college and high school programs nationally must maintain a 3.30 cumulative team grade point average.
