Publications, Presentations, and Exhibits
Cynthia Klobodu (Department of Nutrition and Food Science) co-authored an article titled “Optimizing Fertility Treatments with Nutritional Guidance: Exploring Barriers and Facilitators to Healthful Nutrition Among Female Cancer Survivors with Fertility Challenges.” The piece was published in Integrative Cancer Therapies and researchers conducted in-depth interviews with young, female cancer survivors with fertility challenges to collect information about their dietary intake and help inform the development of dietary interventions for this population.
Matthew Stone (Department of Marketing) published two peer-reviewed articles on consumer behavior in food & beverage tourism: “Consumption Value in Food Tourism: The Effects on Purchase Involvement and Post-Travel Behaviors” appears in Tourism Recreation Research, and “Beer traveler, wine traveler, or both? Comparing beer tourist and wine tourist segments” was published in Tourism Analysis.
Eli Goodsell and Blake Ellis, both from the Big Chico Creek Ecological Reserve (BCCER), co-authored a piece in PLOS Climate titled, “Forest therapy as a trauma-informed approach to disaster recovery: Insights from a wildfire-affected community.” The article discusses the benefits of nature-based therapy for disaster survivors—Goodsell is the director of BCCER and Ellis is an ecotherapy program manager.
Awards, Honors, and Activities
Mario Giannini’s cross country debut was impressive — enough so that the redshirt freshman was named the California Collegiate Athletic Association’s Men’s Runner of the Week. Giannini placed first in the season-opening Ash Creek Collegiate at Western Oregon.
