Worth Sharing: Student-Athletes Rack Up CCAA Honors

Awards and Activities

After his performance at the San Francisco State Invitational on Sept. 10, Brayden McLaughlin was named the California Collegiate Athletic Association (CCAA) Men’s Cross Country Runner of the Week. In his collegiate cross country debut, McLaughlin placed second.

Spurred on by a hat trick in the span of just over three minutes, Madison Parsons was named the CCAA Women’s Soccer Player of the Week. During a 4–1 victory over Fresno Pacific, Parsons scored her three goals in three minutes and four seconds—the fastest hat trick and Chico State women’s soccer history.

Publications, Presentations, and Exhibits

President Emeritus Manuel Esteban published his autobiography titled, “An Incredible Journey: From a Barcelona Eighth Grade Drop Out to an American University Presidency.” Esteban served as University President from 1993 to 2003 and the book follows the path from an unambitious youngster to a driven and passionate educational leader.
