Publications, Presentations, and Exhibits

Chico State plant and soil science and multicultural and gender studies student Saul Reyes reported on the 24-day, 355-mile march that California farm workers participated in to advocate for union voting rights. His piece, “United Farm Workers march 355 miles in support of union voting rights,” appeared in AG Daily.

Awards and Activities

Striker Mackenzie Gill’s two goals in Chico State’s 3-1 win over Sonoma State helped her earn California Collegiate Athletic Association’s (CCAA) Women’s Soccer Offensive Player of the Week honors. Gill was recognized with the same award three weeks ago.

Goalkeeper Emma Hofmann notched a pair of shutouts last week and was named the CCAA Women’s Defensive Player of the Week. The sophomore netminder leads the CCAA in saves percentage (.862) and goals-against average (0.533).

After leading the Chico State men’s cross country team to a first-place finish at the season-opening Cougar Challenge, senior Jack Emmanuel was named the CCAA Men’s Cross Country Runner of the Week. Emmanuel covered the 8-kilometer course in 24 minutes, 19.8 seconds.
