Worth Sharing: Towne Named Men’s and Women’s CCAA Cross Country Coach of the Year

After Chico State’s men’s and women’s cross country teams topped their fields at the conference championships, head coach Gary Towne was rewarded by being named the California Collegiate Athletic Association (CCAA) Coach of the Year for both teams. Throughout his 28 years guiding the Wildcats, Towne has been named the CCAA Coach of the Year 36 times.

The Chico State Cybersecurity team competed in the National Cyber League competition and placed third out of more than 4,000 teams nationwide—its third Top 3 finish in the past three semesters. The competition was held entirely online, started last Friday at 10 a.m. and ended last Sunday at 6 p.m. The students making up the team are: Alexander Rosete, Dylan Courtwright, Dexter Lemm, Evan Pottier, Jiqing Yang, Diana Tyler, and Daniel Rogers.
