Publications, Presentations, and Exhibits

Undergraduate student Nhung (Emma) Pham was selected to be an undergraduate researcher at Chico State’s CSC² Undergraduate Research Program. Her first academic article “Abnormality Detection in Network Traffic by Classification and Graph Data Analysis” under the supervision of Jing Guo (Department of Mathematics and Statistics) and Zhaohong Wang (Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering) is published with IEEE. Pham presented her research at CSC² Undergraduate Research Symposium. She also attended the 2022 IEEE 13th Annual Information Technology, Electronics and Mobile Communication Conference from October 12–15 where she received the Best Presenter Award in the session Computer Network and Algorithms. 

Awards and Activities

Jessica Henry (Department of Information Systems, Finance, and Accounting) passed the July 2022 California Bar Exam, as a first-time test taker. Henry completed her four years of law school at Cal Northern School of Law in Chico while also working full-time and being a mother.

The website Find Best Degrees ranked Chico State at No. 2 on its Best Online Social Work Degree Bachelors Program list.

Four Chico State volleyball players were named to the College Sports Communicators 2022 Academic All-District Team. Honored by the organization were Zoe DiNardo, Lauryn Osendorf, Bree Rodriguez, and Grace Shepherd.

The United Soccer Coaches (USC) organization recognized a quartet of Chico State women’s soccer players to its All-West Region team. Brynn Howard and Nicole Fairbanks were named Second Team All-West Region, with Emma Hofmann and Susanna Garcia earning Third Team All-West Region honors.

The USC also honored Chico State men’s soccer player Adrian Fontanelli on its Second Team All-West Region squad.
