Worth Sharing: Concrete Industry Management Program Receives $300,000 Gift

Awards and Activities

The Concrete Industry Management Program received a $300,000 donation from alum Doug Guerrero to help  renovate its concrete lab.

Chico State women’s soccer coach, Kim Sutton, was named the California Collegiate Athletic Association’s Coach of the Year; Susanna Garcia was named Freshman of the Year; Sarah Emigh and Jamie Ikeda were named to the All-CCAA First Team; Korie Bozart was named to the All-CCAA Second Team; and Brenna Meier, Erin Woods, and Abbie Jones received Honorable Mention.

Chico State men’s soccer’s Damion Lewis was named the CCAA’s Goalkeeper of the Year; Eddie Zecena was named Freshman of the Year; Jeremiah Eguije and Lewis were named to the All-CCAA First Team; Zecena was named to the All-CCAA Second Team; and Ronan McEnroe and Garrett Hogbin received Honorable Mention.

The Shasta District – Chico State Student Chapter of the Associated General Contractors of California won the AGC Community Service Award for its work on “Caper Acres Swing Project – Bidwell Park.”

Evelyn Buchanan, Office of Advancement, was selected to serve on the inaugural Artificial Intelligence in Advancement Advisory Council.

The Orion was awarded its 13th Pacemaker award from the Associated Collegiate Press, considered to be the highest national honor for student publications.
